Adjunct and Visiting Faculty

We understand that as an adjunct faculty member or as a visiting professor, you may experience difficulties in initiating and leading research projects through your institution's sponsored research department. Unfortunately, without an active research agenda, the chances of landing a full time, tenure-track academic position are low.
The Florida Research Institute, is an independent, non-profit research organization dedicated to improving life quality by solving problems in education, health, environment and the economy. Because our Fellows comprise a virtual network of research professionals, you can still pursue your research goals even if you are a visiting or part time faculty member at an academic institution located anywhere in the US. Even better, FRI will provide you with up to $1000 in seed funding to help defray costs of proposal development.
If you submit a research proposal through FRI that is ultimately awarded funding from a Federal, state, Foundation or other funding source, FRI will provide contract management and oversight, reporting, funds management, and even access to our state-of-the-art CADI telephone survey technologies. That means FRI can be your sponsored research department, allowing you to focus on the research, data analysis, report and publication development needed to advance your career.
